IPL & CPL Light Treatment

Hair removal, Skin Rejuvenation Or Pigmentation Therapy

Intense Pulsed-Light (IPL) is permanent hair reduction that uses a specialized hand piece to filter a band of light directly into the hair follicles. Pigment in the follicle absorbs the light, which is then converted to heat. The heat loosens the hairs and causes the cells to become incapable of growing a new hair.

This technology can remove up to 95% of pigmented lesions on the face and body, reduce redness associated with rosacea, smooth acne scars and reduce fine lines and moderate wrinkles.

    Intense Pulse Light Hair Removal

Consultation is required first and is best done with a course of Treatments.

Consultation is $30 and is redeemable on your first session.

    Benefits:

    • Permanent Reduction – Cells surrounding hair follicles are disabled with pulsed light.
    • Fast – Most treatments are 10-15 minutes. Large areas can be treated in as little as a half-hour.
    • Effective – Unlike shaving, waxing or even electrolysis, hair growth is permanently reduced.

What is Intense, Pulsed-Light (IPL) Hair Removal?

Intense Pulsed-Light (IPL) is permanent hair reduction that uses a specialized hand piece to filter a band of light directly into the hair follicles. Pigment in the follicle absorbs the light, which is then converted to heat. The heat loosens the hairs and causes the cells to become incapable of growing a new hair.

IPL is a more efficient laser because it treats a larger area. One treatment of Intense Pulsed-Light Hair Removal on the upper lip can take as little as 15-20 minutes. What Areas can be Treated? Almost any area can be treated with IPL, except around the eyes. Chin , “sideburn” hair, upper and lower lips, neck, chest, arms, legs, bikini line and back hair can all be reduced permanently!

    What are Treatments Like?

With each pulse triggered by our trained therapists, a light will flash and a slight audible beep will be heard. It has been compared to a light snap against the skin with a rubber band. Puravida has the latest in technology so the procedure is relatively painless.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Every patient is different and the number of treatments will vary. However, hair does grow in cycles and to affect every hair, a minimum of 3-5 treatments every 6-8 weeks is standard.

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

Redness and a possible sunburn-like sensation may occur immediately after treatment. This usually lasts no more than 24 hours, and usually less than a couple of hours. Hairs will be present in the treated area for as long as 30-days. This is normal. This treated hair will fall out within the month following treatment. New hairs from a subsequent hair cycle will need to be treated in a successive treatment. Typically, several treatments are needed to achieve permanent hair reduction.

    • Facial Line and Wrinkles

What is Intense, Pulsed-Light (IPL) Treatment?

Intense Pulsed (IPL) uses high intensity pulses of visible light to rejuvenate the skin. It can improve the appearance of vascular lesions including spider angiomas, port wine stains, broken facial veins, rosy cheeks, thread veins of the legs, mild acne, freckles, age marks, and facial lines and wrinkles. This procedure of rejuvenating aged skin with light is referred to as photo rejuvenation.

What are the advantages of IPL over other treatments?

The advantages of IPL over other skin rejuvenation methods are tremendous, especially for those with mild to moderate skin damage. IPL is non-invasive and a treatment takes around 30-40 minutes, and you can return to work or daily activities immediately. It is administered in a series of four to six treatment sessions, providing gradual, natural improvement with excellent long-term results. Also, IPL treats the entire face, giving you an overall revitalized and youthful appearance.

    How does IPL work?

IPL systems work in much the same way as lasers in that light energy is absorbed into particular target cells that contain pigment or blood. The light energy is converted to heat energy, which causes damage to the targeted cells. IPL differs from laser treatment in that it is non-ablative, causing minimal damage to the upper layer of skin.

    What is treatment like?

A cold gel is applied to the area being treated to protect the skin. You are given protective eye shields to wear throughout the session. Your therapist practitioner begins by placing the smooth, glass surface of the IPL treatment head directly onto to the skin, delivering precisely controlled pulses of light to the treatment area.

The process is continued until the entire treatment area has been covered. The sensation has been likened to a light snap of a rubber band. To make the procedure as comfortable as possible, Puravida utilizes the latest IPL technology, which contains an integrated cooling system within the IPL device.

To achieve desired results a series of 4-6 sessions every 3-6 weeks may be needed. Prior to the procedure your therapist will explain the process and clearly define your expectations of the treatment. You should avoid sun exposure in the days and weeks before and after treatment.
