RF Micro Needling

Fractional RF is our advanced skin treatment which achieves superior results for a range of aesthetic skin concerns. This treatment stimulates your skin to firm, plump and repair itself. It uses the combination of fractional radio frequency and dermal stamping to reduce pigmentation and the appearance of scars and large pores. It also encourages your skin’s own repair process for a beautiful skin tone and so much more.

This treatment is versatile and can be tailored to effectively treat many aesthetic skin concerns on the face and body.

The combination of Fractional RF and micro-needling involves direct energy into the layers of the skin. This micro-needle treatment will stimulate and re-energise the skin which promotes revival of tired and dull skin.

Fractional RF is used to tighten and firm facial contours which become lax and sag as you age. Skin becomes firmer around the jawline, chin, and cheeks while lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead are reduced. The result is a more youthful appearance with greater skin elasticity and lift to the face.

Acne Scarring and Stretch Marks

The advanced combination of radio frequency and micro-needle technology effectively removes the scarred skin imperfections resulting from acne or stretch marks. As the skin is deeply stimulated, it is renewed to look healthier, firmer, and more refined. This results in a more even skin texture with a visible reduction in scars.

Rejuvenation

Application of RF energy targets the skin’s natural renewal processes, releasing and reviving new energy in the skin. This re-energized skin rapidly plumps and becomes strengthened, which reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This all results in younger, smoother looking skin.

Rosacea/General Redness/Flushing

The radio frequency is used to strengthen the skin redressing the underlying causes of redness and irritation; this results in dramatically improved skin tone and colour.

Acne

Fractional RF creates micro channels that release oil build up and free your congested skin from this burden. Although some lasers can be used in the same way, we find that this combined treatment is less painful and readily tolerated. When the Radio Frequency energy is applied in combination with micro-needles, we are also able to reduce the appearance of scarring, redness, and irritation. This makes a noticeable difference to acne prone skin.

Open Pores

Fractional RF visibly treats open pores, by opening new micro-channels in the skin allowing it to breath more easily. Pore size is significantly improved over 2-5 treatments.

FAQ

One of the most promising new technologies for aesthetic treatments is the combination of two methods previously used individually for skin rejuvenation, micro-needling, and radiofrequency. This combination therapy, known as fractionated radiofrequency, is effective for improvement in acne and acne scars, as well as fine lines and wrinkles, both on and off the face. It can also be used for all skin types and is associated with minimal downtime and few complications.

The treatment allows for precision in treatment through its ability to control the intensity of the energy, the depth of delivery, and the pulse duration. Insulated needles allow for sparing of the epidermis and allows for its use in all skin types while decreasing the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Side-effects and downtime are significantly reduced compared to other energy-based devices used for skin rejuvenation.

Most clients see benefit following one treatment. We recommend 3-4 treatment sessions for optimal results.

What can I expect after Dermal needling treatment?

Your skin will be red and inflamed for about 24-48hrs, this will look and feel like sunburn.

Massage and excessive sun exposure should be avoided at this time. More aggressive treatments may result in skin flaking as the new skin layer regenerates. Moisturisers and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are highly recommended during this recovery phase.

Fractional Radiofrequency Skin Rejuvenation

Fractional Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that delivers heat to dermal tissue while the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) remains relatively intact. This stimulates collagen and elastin production resulting in rejuvenation of the skin tissue.

RF rejuvenation differs from traditional fractional rejuvenation in that it does not use laser or light technology, so it is suitable for lighter and darker skin types, and for treatment of the eye area. During treatment, only 5% of the epidermis is affected to allow heat to enter the deeper skin tissue, so the rate of healing is rapid with little downtime. RF is used to improve fine lines, particularly of the eye area, general skin texture and appearance, and early or mild acne scarring.

RF is used in combination with other therapies to treat active acne with very impressive results after 4-5 treatments.

RF is one of the safest cosmetic treatments offered because it is non-invasive and works by heating the deeper layers of the skin keeping the outer layers intact. This treatment is suitable for any skin type including darker skin types.

The treatment is well tolerated in most clients. Most people report a ‘prickling’ sensation followed by a ‘sting’. This can be uncomfortable in sensitive areas such as around the eyes. Numbing cream is applied complimentary for this treatment.

RF fractional resurfacing is a non-invasive treatment so there is extraordinarily little downtime associated with this procedure. Most clients experience erythema (redness), warmth and mild stinging in the area for a few hours to 3-5 days (higher settings) following the treatment. Cooling is recommended by fanning the treated area. Temporary ‘patterning’ of the skin can occur in some skin types. This is easily covered by makeup. Minor flaking and peeling and prolonged erythema (redness) of the skin can occur at higher settings but your therapist will let you know if this is likely to happen. Oral non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) can be used.

Any area can be treated but the recommended areas for this treatment are the face, neck, around the mouth and eyes, décolletage, and hands.

Although you will likely see some improvement in your skin after your first treatment, most people experience optimal improvement over the course of 3-5 treatments with 4-6 weeks between treatments.

FAQ

Dermapen treatments are popular and innovative anti-aging and scar correction procedures designed to rejuvenate the skin making it look smoother and more youthful. Currently the world’s most advanced skin needling technology, in comparison to other skin rejuvenating procedures Dermapen is relatively non-invasive, painless, and inexpensive, giving you fresh and fabulous new-looking skin.

As the name suggests, the Dermapen is a small, pen-like tool which delivers multiple tiny punctures to the skin. While it’s small in stature the Dermapen is big on results, proving to be an effective treatment for reducing wrinkles and fine lines, treating acne scars, improving skin texture, minimising pores, and providing an overall rejuvenation of the skin.

But don’t worry if you are needle-phobic, you won’t need to see the microscopic needles contained within the Dermapen – and they’re so tiny.

The Dermapen device uses many vibrating, fine needles that create multiple micro-channels in the skin. Suitable for all skin types, the Dermapen works at a precise needle depth, rapidly penetrating the skin to produce tiny micro punctures. This technique stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to produce the two proteins needed for supple, smooth, and youthful skin – collagen and elastin.

While we sometimes endure pain for the sake of beauty (hmm, waxing springs to mind!) the good news is that Dermapen anti-ageing treatments cause minimal pain procedures. Numbing cream may be used for many skin treatments but the vibrating effect of the Dermapen interrupts the pain receptors in the skin which means numbing cream isn’t necessary. How clever is that! In fact, Clear Skincare Clinic clients find the Dermapen micro-needling process quite comfortable.

That is partly because the Dermapen isn’t rolled or dragged across the skin like a dermal roller, so the tiny punctures are cleaner, more direct, and less painful without that dragging or tearing sensation of the needles rolling across the skin.

The Dermapen treatment is a natural, mechanical process which works effectively without the use of chemicals.

The side effects post-treatment are minor and may include slight swelling and discomfort, redness or minor flaking of the skin. Slight bruising is possible in people with sensitive skin prone to bruising easily.

We all heal at different rates, but generally, you should see the effectiveness of the Dermapen beginning to work as your skin starts to heal within four to seven days post-treatment. Within four to six weeks you are ready for your next session where the positive results will become cumulative.

In the weeks post-treatment, Puravida Beauty clients report a glam new look with noticeably smoother, younger-looking, rejuvenated skin.

Skin needling stimulates the production of collagen, it helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, as well as improves skin sagging and refines pores. Acne scarring will benefit from micro needling, as will your overall skin texture Skin needling is a derma roller procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The purpose of treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Micro needling is mostly used on the face and may treat various scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

Due to its amazing technology, unlike other Meso Needling pens the Dermapen does not require skin numbing prior to treatments. When you have a Dermapen treatment, your experience will likely be less painful (if you feel any pain at all). Because the needles are not angled and enter the skin at a perfect 90-degree angle, there is no pain associated with the rolling action of the dermal roller.

Treatments can be repeated every 4-6 weeks until you achieve the desired results. We recommend starting with 3 treatments. For scar reduction an average of 3 to 6 treatments are recommended. Results can be seen from one to eight weeks after treatment. Typically, you will see results after your first treatment. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4-6 treatments.

Dermapen Skin Needling is safe for all skin types. Skin needling does not contain any harsh chemicals or ingredients that skin may react to, rather is stimulating the skin’s natural healing process through collagen induction therapy which is both safe and effective for every skin type.

Directly after a treatment your skin will appear flushed, with slight redness and possible mild swelling in treated skin areas. Depending on the intensity of the treatment you may experience light flaking. Majority of the redness should subside within 24 hours and skin will be totally headed within 2-5 days. This amazing treatment has virtually no downtime.

Maximise your Dermapen Skin Needling results by combining an RF Radio Frequency treatment. This combination simultaneously treats the skin’s surface as well as the deeper layers of the skin to tighten skin and improve fine lines, wrinkles, skin elasticity, thinning skin, and facial acne scarring. We use Radio Frequency and Dermapen Skin Needling to stimulate the skin’s natural healing process and generate new skin cells. As a result, the skin’s texture is improved, skin layer are repaired and tissues are lifted and strengthened. If your skin is scarred, wrinkled, sagging or pigmented, RF and Dermapen Skin Needling may be the perfect treatment for you.

Skin needling or micro needling and radio frequency are both treatments that are normally performed individually to induce new collagen to improve the skin. We recommend combining both together in a single treatment to synergise their effects on the skin. Skin needling is used to create thousands of micro-injuries to the skin. This mechanically induces the production of new collagen in the skin by creating a small injury to the skin that the skin repairs by producing more collagen.

Radio frequency RF treatments generate heat in the skin to produce new collagen. Research has shown that heating the skin can cause collagen fibers to shrink and tighten immediately. When heated to 40 degrees the body’s wound healing process is stimulated to further generate more collagen and elastin.

While the years and the elements take a toll on our skin and we naturally produce less collagen as we age, Dermapen treatments are a chemical-free way to roll back the clock. As the fine needles stimulate the Dermapen stimulates the epidermal layers of the skin where collagen and elastin are produced, the Dermapen is a more penetrative treatment for treating scarring, fine lines and wrinkles than skincare creams which treat the outer layers of the skin. It is less invasive and far more affordable than other types of scar revision treatments, and the recovery time is brief – because who wants to hide for days on end?

One of the additional perks of the Dermapen treatment is that your renewed skin is better able to absorb the nutrients from your skincare products, so serums, eye creams, moisturisers and masks are working more efficiently and become more cost-effective.

When you consider that anti-ageing, scar-correcting Dermapen treatments result in multiple benefits and visible improvements to a number of skin conditions for a fraction of the cost of some alternatives, it is definitely worth it.

LED Max & Light Therapy

A powerful means of obtaining more beautiful skin.

LED Light therapy is an advanced technology that offers a gentle, non-invasive yet powerful means of obtaining more beautiful skin.

Max+ LED uses several specific coloured wavelengths that each help the skin in a different unique way. The layers of the skin are comprised of a high content of blood and water which allows them to easily and readily absorb and accept light. Once absorbed into the skin the different colours encourage cell communication to rebalance, heal and rejuvenate the skin.

Max+ LED is great for those who want to minimise the visible signs of aging, reduce breakouts bringing clarity to the skin, repair the skin’s barrier and speed up the skin’s natural healing process to reduce redness, calm, and even out skin tone. 10 – 12 treatments are recommended for ultimate results to skin.

Infrared LED Light

  • • Red LED light can reach down into all the layers of the skin where it:
    • Energises the skin cells
    • Rejuvenates
    • Stimulates collagen production
    • Prompts cellular repair
    • Increases circulation promoting a more vibrant and youthful complexion

Red and infrared LED lights work synergistically to deliver optimal skin rejuvenation. This combination of LED lights is ideal for deeper lines and wrinkles, scarring, and promoting a more even skin tone..

Blue LED Light

  • Blue light helps to relax muscles and fine lines and promotes intercellular communication allowing all the skins processes to work together synergistically
  •

Yellow LED Light

Yellow light reduces the appearance of:

  • • redness
  • • swelling
  • • and inflammation
  •

This colour of light works by toning and tightening the skin and is beneficial for rosacea and treating burns such as sunburn.

It also has a mild detoxifying effect on the skin.

FAQ

Fractional Radiofrequency Skin Resurfacing is useful in eliminating or diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks, scars, age spots, enlarged pores, and sun-damaged skin.

Fractional Radiofrequency Skin Resurfacing is an innovative, non-surgical skin resurfacing treatment that allows us to offer our patients rejuvenated, more youthful looking skin with minimal down time. The treatment uses tiny pins that safely deliver energy through the skin’s surface. This creates tiny wounds which initiates a natural healing process and accelerates the formation of new, healthy tissue. The result is an improved skin tone and texture, and lessening of fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. Since the wounds are so small, there is significantly less downtime and the treatments are much more comfortable when compared to traditional ablative laser resurfacing treatments.

You will feel tiny pins on your skin followed by a little zap. Your skin will then feel warm, like a sunburn.

The treatment may be slightly uncomfortable, but not painful. You will feel intense heat, similar to the feeling of a sunburn and your skin will look red right after the treatment. For more aggressive treatments, a topical numbing cream may be applied to reduce any discomfort.

The radiofrequency resurfacing procedure normally takes between 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the size and location of the targeted area. A topical anesthetic may be applied before treatment which will increase the length of your appointment. Since each individual’s skin condition is unique, some people may have satisfactory results with three to four treatments, but others may require more sessions to achieve the dramatic results they seek.

Your skin will be red for the first 24 hours after treatment and you may experience some mild swelling and discomfort. With more aggressive treatments, there can be redness and flaking of affected skin for up to 5 days. You can resume your regular skin care and makeup routine 24 hours after treatment. Sun exposure is to be avoided during the healing period.

RF is one of the safest treatments available for darker skin types. There is a very low risk of side effects and skin darkening, which makes this a safe treatment for Asian and darker skin types – a key difference when compared to some traditional treatments (IPL & Laser).

IPL Facials

Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy, aka photofacial, is a way to improve the color and texture of your skin without surgery. It can undo some of the visible damage caused by sun exposure — called photoaging. You may notice it mostly on your face, neck, hands, or chest.

It stands for Intense Pulsed Light and is a beauty therapy treatment designed to help rejuvenate the skin. We treat deeper issues at the source like Acne, Pigmentation and more. IPL is also used to direct heat to hair follicles under the skin and reduce hair growth, much like laser hair removal.

The light penetration targets different concerns depending on the type of treatment you are getting. For example, A photo rejuvenation treatment will trigger your skin to create more skin structure and support (collagen), give your skin that bouncy feeling (elastin) and hydration and plump (glycosaminoglycans). This is great for people wanting a boost in their skin and to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Meanwhile if you are treating Acne, the IPL machine can target the bacteria at the source deeper in the skin and cut off the bacteria cycle while boosting elastin, healing collagen and balancing oil and moisture.

Do you have broken capillaries, we can treat them too! And pigmentation can be minimised and eliminated by breaking down the melanin from sun damage. Your skin will then pull the pigment to the surface and you’re able to exfoliate it off without leaving scars or lighter patches.

Vascular – Broken capillaries, Cherry angiomas, Rosacea.

It’s a 75 minute treatment that includes:

Double cleanse, Enzyme Treatment, Customised IPL treatment, LED post IPL, hand and arm massage, and finishing products.

This is something that will vary person to person and concern to concern. The reason for this is that IPL treats environmental and external damage and one person’s damage will be completely different depending on things like ethnicity, age, degree of exposure and severity of damage, also when it occurred and how long ago it healed.

Because of this, we have to take each client individually and really look at all of the factors that will either interfere or compliment the treatment. This is also why we have a consultation for every client coming in for IPL, as there are so many variable factors, we want to ensure you are treated the best possible way to get the best possible results.

To give you a benchmark, clients will start to see longer lasting results around 3 treatments in, but most will require 5–6 sessions. However, if we can treat you faster by increasing the strength of your treatment as determined at your consultation, we will see those results quicker.

Traditionally, we have seen IPL used on the face and neck to treat clients’ concerns; however, we can treat almost the whole body. What we see are clients with concerns like age spots on hands, broken capillaries, and uneven skin tone on the chest and shoulders. That’s the great thing about IPL, we can really tailor a treatment to suit ALL of your needs rather than leaving you with a perfect face and no help from the chest down.

FAQ

It works best if you have pale or light brown skin and you are wanting to work on:

Acne

Stretch marks

Liver or age spots

Broken blood vessels

Pigmentation

Discolored skin

Fine lines and  wrinkles

Redness

Scars

Spider veins

Skin Rejuventation

Talk to your doctor first if you:

• Are pregnant

• Have a skin condition

• Take medication for other conditions

IPL isn’t a good idea if you:

• Are sensitive to light

• Have recently tanned your skin using sunlight, tanning beds, or tanning creams

• Might have skin cancer

• Use a retinoid cream

• Are very dark-skinned

• Have a skin resurfacing disorder

• Have severe scarring

• Have keloid scar tissue

On the day of your appointment, avoid using perfume, makeup, and scented products that can irritate your skin.

Before the procedure, don’t:

Tan in the sun, in a tanning bed, or with tanning creams for 4 weeks before you go

Wax, or get a chemical peel or collagen shots for 2 weeks before

Wear perfume, makeup, deodorant, or any skin irritants

Take aspirin or another drug that can make you bleed more

Take any medication that will make you sun-sensitive; for example, the antibiotic doxycycline.

Once you’re there, a technician or dermatologist will rub gel on your clean skin. You’ll wear dark glasses to protect your eyes. The handheld IPL device will go right on your body. The session will probably last 20 or 30 minutes. Large areas could take an hour or more.

While most people are fine with the light pulses, the treatment could sting a little. It might feel like someone is snapping a rubber band on you.

It may feel like you have a sunburn for 4-6 hours after you’re finished. Some of your pigmentation spots may get darker, but they should peel off within a few weeks.

While you heal:

Don’t put on makeup if your skin hurts.

Use moisturizing lotion.

Protect yourself with sunscreen. Make sure it has an SPF of at least 30 and a physical blocker like zinc. Reapply it every 2 hours, even if it’s not sunny outside.

Wash your face with cleanser for sensitive skin.

Your dermatologist can tell you when it’s safe to return to your normal skin care routine. It might take a week.

Most people get between three and seven sessions. It depends on the condition you’re treating. You’ll wait 2-4 weeks between each visit. It may take several weeks for you to notice any changes in your skin.
